The courage to be imperfect

Ok, evidently I am the last person in the world to see the Ted talk by Brene Brown on vulnerability. I’m sure (or I hope) it resonates with all of us in some way. For me, I really liked the way she described people as having the courage to be imperfect…

When you’re the slowest runner of the group, it’s interesting how your perspective can change. When I signed up for the marathon training my goal was to run a marathon. But lately my goal seems to be to run a marathon in 4:30 (about the average time ). Problem is, that’s a challenging time for me, I might not be able to do it. So, do I change my goal back to the original to make it achievable, or do I leave it as-is and most likely not reach it?

Today was a tempo run. 1 mile slow, 4 at 8:30, and 1 slow. Can’t believe 8:30 is my ‘fast’ speed.
